September 20, 2007 – Guernsey, British Channel Islands – Tethys Petroleum Limited (“Tethys”) (TSX:TPL), today announced the appointment of Rosemary Johnson-Sabine as Vice President Exploration.
Rosemary joins Tethys from the Danish independent oil company Maersk Oil and Gas where she was Managing Director of the London office and Vice President Exploration and New Business Development, recently focused on developing Maersk’s business in Kazakhstan. Rosemary will work alongside Tethys’ Vice President Technical, Graham Wall, together providing the exploration and development support for the progression of Tethys’ business in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and potentially other parts of Central Asia.
Rosemary trained as a geologist and a geophysicist and is a skilled explorationist, having some 26 years experience in the industry working in a variety of positions in geophysics, exploration management, new business development and in upstream and downstream commercial functions in many parts of the world for government agencies, independent oil companies and majors. She was Exploration Manager of the successful UK independent Monument Oil and Gas, and Exploration Manager Europe for Texaco. In 1991 she was named UK “Explorer of the Year” and in 2002 was awarded an OBE by Queen Elizabeth for services to the oil industry. Rosemary is a past Chairman of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB) and past President of the European Association of Petroleum Geoscientists (EAPG). Since 2003 she has been a Board Member of the British Geological Survey (BGS).

Tethys is focused on oil and gas exploration and production activities in Central Asia with activities currently in the Republic of Kazakhstan and more recently the Republic of Tajikistan.
