Tethys Petroleum Limited (“Tethys” or the “Company”) (TSX: TPL) today issued the following statement regarding the KOM201 exploration well in Tajikistan.
The Jurassic interval in the East Komsomolsk KOM201 well in Tajikistan is currently being flow tested. Gas is currently flowing from the well with a stable gas flare at the wellsite which is located in the northern suburbs of the Tajik capital city of Dushanbe. No definitive data is available at present and it is anticipated that it will take at least one month to complete testing operations and be in a position to issue definitive results. However given the urban location of the well and the visibility to the general public the Company feels it necessary to make the above statement.
Tethys is focused on oil and gas exploration and production activities in Central Asia with activities currently in the Republics of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This highly prolific oil and gas area is rapidly developing and Tethys believes that significant potential exists in both exploration and in discovered deposits.
